The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has just launched a free internet program, JAKWIFI. This program has provided 4,956 free wifi access points which will be increased to 9,413 points. Information on the location of the access point and its expansion can be checked by the public using the JAKI (Jakarta Kini) application. This program is the result of collaboration between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and Bali Tower and the Telecommunication Network Organization Association (APJATEL).
Here's how to see JAKWIFI's Internet coverage area in the JAKI application:
- Download the JAKI app.
- Look for the Wifi Service Distribution option. The current user can see it at the top of the app.
- After selecting, the application will display a map of Jakarta.
- Wait a while because the application takes time to display internet access points.
- After the access point appears, the user can immediately search the area with the access point they want to know.
This program is the result of collaboration through shared use of access points with telecommunications service providers, and provision of access points through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.
